As a Carnegie Museum Material Worlds Fashion show winner I was commissioned to make a fashion piece inspired by Iris van Herpen.
My pieces are a direct exploration of how material goods can better reflect the complex layers of a person’s personality. Strawberry Fields utilize movement, color, and material to create multiple states of the same garment. Through varying movements, the garments give the consumer and its audience an interactive experience that is captivating and instills curiosity. It would be interesting to see how a dialogue created between consumers and their products could change the way people view the value of the objects they own.
Materials Used: Faux fur, batting, terry knit, arduino, 3d prints, microservos
