Mindflow: An VR Brain Training tool to help access flow state

When creativity enters the work space, we begin to expect creative production on demand. How can we achieve an optimal state of consciousness where we can perform best creatively and productively? Often paired with creative mindsets is the idea of the flow state. The measure of flow state can be materialized through reading different levels of brain waves ( a mix of alpha, beta, theta, and delta). This project helps you learn to control mind state by interacting with objects that react to your brainwaves.

Technology: Using an EEG band, a VR headset, and leap motion I was able to control objects in space through brain measurements, and hand gestures.

Mindflow Gameplay

The goal of the activities is to go through three levels of control: Awareness, Passive Use, and Active Use. First you need to be able to consciously understand what feels different when you’re in one cognitive state over another, then you need to be able to associate that state with a low consequence action, lastly you’re asked to remain in flow state while performing interactive task based activities.
